Taller

Taller (from the album Mandala)

Now the pop plays and the DJ says there’s a rockin few hours to come
When all I care to do with my time is stare at this notebook so long

CHORUS
There’s some kids riding bikes and I remember the times
when I wore a shoe size much smaller
But now I’m alive and grown up inside, feeling older and looking taller

Now there’s fewer trees I can climb today though I used to climb quite high
When the blood was younger it pumped a little stronger
Now I’m lucky if it pumps half the time

CHORUS
And as the sun shines through the leaves I remember the dreams
When I thought the world was much smaller
But now I’m alive and grown up inside, feeling older and looking taller

SOLO

Now it’s not so bad – this isn’t meant to be sad
I know there’s many good years to come
When I look back, I smile and I know it was worth while
Some things could’ve been different but why bother?

CHORUS
And to this day I see through a child’s eye and laugh a bit at myself
And even with gray hairs and a few that aren’t there
I know I’m much stronger – cause I’m feeling older and looking taller
