Chaos Rise Up Lyrics

Chaos Rise Up

Chaos Rise Up (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Chaos Rise Up
Chaos rise up through the concrete and the coffee stains
Chaos rise up… through the tension, and the tea bags
Chaos rise up from the dead beats to the old dregs
Chaos rise up… through the membranes of bad eggs
Chaos rise up (Rpt 2x)

Chaos rise up through the back streets and the cold hags
Chaos rise up… through the chest pain, and garbage bags
Chaos rise up through the dark clouds and broken panes
Chaos rise up… through the gutters of acid rain
Chaos rise up (Rpt 2x)

Chaos rise up from the ink blots and the blank page
Chaos rise up… with the rock star backstage
Chaos rise up through the floor boards and sewer mains
Chaos rise up… through the champagne of rusty chains
Chaos rise up (Rpt 2x)

Chaos rise up from the raw meat and steady state
Chaos rise up, like a street gang tempting fate
Chaos rise up through the deafness and eye strain
Chaos rise up, through the cubicles and the Rogaine
Chaos rise up (Rpt 2x)

Proverbs (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, out of sight out of mind
It’s better late than never – a stitch in time saves nine
Old dogs without new tricks
When you live and learn it sticks
Too many cooks spoil the broth; two’s company three’s a crowd
Birds of a feather flock together, but it’s the thought that counts
There’s nothing new under the sun
Few are chosen but many come

Silence is golden, talk is cheap, the squeaky wheel gets the grease
Try again if you don’t succeed, don’t miss the forest for the trees

Variety is the spice of life, and ignorance is bliss
The best things in life are free, beauty’s only deep as your skin
Early to bed, early to rise
A pound foolish, but penny wise

Silence is golden, talk is cheap, the squeaky wheel gets the grease
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese

Better safe than sorry, look before you leap
The other side’s always greener, but experience isn’t cheap
You can’t judge a book by its cover
There’s a world out there to discover

CHORUS

Keep The Windows Closed (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Keep the windows closed, so the satellites can’t get in
That way no one knows, the plot that’s made within
Keep the story straight, so historians can’t get in
That way no one knows, the plot that’s made within

I’ll see you in the underground, fighting for your rights
Below the fossils and without a sound, in the shadows, behind the lights

Keep the borders closed, so the spirits can’t get in
That way no one knows, there’s ashes in the wind
Keep the people numb, so initiative can’t get in
That way no one knows, the world that could have been

I’ll see you in the underground, fighting for your rights.
Inside the castles, with ankles bound, in the dungeons, by fire light.

I’ll see you in the underground, fighting for your rights
Behind the curtains, without a sound, hidden from prying eyes.

Keep the shutters closed, so the neighbors can’t see in
That way no one knows, the secrets held within
Keep the public blind, so the maniacs can’t get in
That way no one knows, the thinking of the fringe… I’m on the thinking of the fringe

I’ll see you in the underground, fighting for your rights.
Behind the cameras spinning around, on the networks crawling inside

Keep the windows shut, Keep the fences high, Keep your spirits low,
Keep the workers weak, Keep the writers down
Keep your sunglasses on so the aliens can’t get in
Meanings of the past, your language is suppressed
Sleep with one eye shut and the other on the door.

Chaos Factory 2.0 (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Oh, what the hell is goin’ on, the flesh has turned to stone
Now the city starts to burn, and they’re wreckin’ it, wreckin’ it
Oh, what are we supposed to do, as they tighten every screw,
Hammer every nail, now they’re wreckin’ it, wreckin’ it

While the carburetor smiles, it turns inches into miles
Now we’re on the road to the Chaos Factory

Now, the blueprints have been drawn, the old ways are now gone
No sense in making repairs, now they’re wreckin’ it, wreckin’ it
Where’s the voice of all the men, protesting to the end
Everyone’s replaced now they’re wreckin’ it, wreckin’ it
The robots have been built, upgraded without guilt
No humanity remains… in the Chaos Factory

Rusty wrenches, dirty gears, collected through the years
Acid starts to churn now they’re wreckin’ it, wreckin’ it
Now they’ve got us by the tail, if the infrastructure fails
Corroding our control… cause they’re wreckin it, wreckin it
They’re tightening the bolts, electricity jolts
To spin the belts and wheels… in the Chaos Factory

We live just to feed the machine, keep the motor running clean
Against the A-frame barricade now they’re wreckin it, wreckin it.
Punch a clock for all the hours, while the rich men live in towers.
We can’t drink gasoline, and they’re wreckin it, wreckin it
Ore smelting over fires, great deals made under spires
Now we breathe acetylene in the Chaos Factory

Rusty wrenches, dirty gears
Oh, what the hell is goin’ on, the flesh has turned to stone
Now the city starts to burn, and they’re wreckin’ it, wreckin’ it

Organ Harvest (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

This is no ordinary mortician or mortuary
In the graveyard late at night, digging ditches, do it right
Pay off the undertaker, the Presbyterian and the Quaker
To obtain the parts that we need to sell, for sure we’ll go to Hell

Livers, kidneys, limbs, heart valves, hair and skin
Dig, dissect and deal, rob the worms of every meal

That man Mastromarino, tomb raider – indicted, badda-bingo
Twisted physician making human Swiss cheese,
Avoid investigation, pass on the disease.
Stem cells, such a pleasure, intestines, they’re a treasure
Millions raked in from black market trade, the body’s still warm, cut off that leg

Lungs, fingers, jaws, tendons, veins and blood
Dig, dissect and deal, rob the worms of every meal

Tourists stealing marrow from the dead, lively as a sparrow they said
Worth more in the freezer than the mausoleum

Secret chamber chop shop, dissection going non-stop
Prop them up with PVC, stitch ‘em up, no one will see
Fiends of formaldehyde, descendants of Frankenstein
Will Cooke’s bones ever turn up somewhere? Before the cremation they were there.

Grinders, hacksaws, blades, scalpels in the shade
Building blocks we steal, cut the membrane, cut a deal
Livers, kidneys, limbs, heart valves, hair and skin
Dig, dissect and deal, rob the worms of every meal

Creepy Girl (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Saw her at the movies last night, I thought that she was cute.
Then they turned out the lights, and that point was moot.
Just when I got comfortable, with my popcorn in my seat,
What was there before my eyes, but a hellish demon queen.

Cause she’s creepy, she’s a creepy girl. The creepiest that I’ve seen.
Yes she’s creepy, she’s a creepy girl. Gore and guts and slimy bleed.

Her head spun round and her eyes lit up, like an evil Christmas tree.
Her finger nails grew and her fangs popped out. She came right after me.

Here comes the creepy… the creepy girl. This is her biggest scene.
She’s so damn creepy, freaky creepy girl. Jumping right off the movie screen.

Is it possession, or is it obsession? Pulling me towards the dark?
No exorcism or intervention can keep me safe at night… from the creepy, creepy girl!!

Yes, she’s creepy, she’s a creepy girl, the creepiest that I’ve seen.
Yes, she’s creepy, she’s a creepy girl. I see her in my sleep.
Yes, she’s creepy, she’s a creepy girl, the creepiest that I’ve seen
Yes, she’s creepy, she’s a creepy girl. I love her ‘cuz she’s mean.

My friends fess up, say “good luck with goth” now I’m all alone.
The flick is done and the lights are on, time to get back home.

To my creepy… creepy creepy girl, the creepiest that I’ve seen.
Yes, she’s creepy… creepy, creepy girl. I love her cause she’s mean.
Here comes creepy, creepy creepy girl, this is her biggest scene.
She’s so creepy, freaky, creepy girl, jumping right off the movie screen.

Ones & Zeroes (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Is it digitized or real life? Does it make you jump and shout?
Is it digitized or real life? Does it let the feeling out?

It’s a life of ones and zeroes – so simple, so complex.
It’s a life of ones and zeroes – it’s a digital reflex.

You can talk to the world. You can talk to yourself.
You can talk to the world. Either way you need help.

Because we speak in ones and zeroes – so simple, so complex.
We speak in ones and zeroes – it’s a digital reflex.

Are we going through transitions every night we stay up late?
Are we torn in two directions ‘tween the real world and the world that we create?

Because it’s all ones and zeroes.
The music you hear and the images you see.
It’s all ones and zeroes.
The places you go and the people you meet.

Catch the Squirrel (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

All the philosophy in this world, isn’t gonna help you catch the squirrel
All the religion in this world, isn’t gonna help you straighten life’s curls
All the politics in this world, isn’t gonna help you string the pearls
All the money in this world, doesn’t buy you nothin’… nothin that you need

All the marketing and things they say, focused on tomorrow and yesterday
All the images on our screens isn’t gonna help us sew the seams
Glenn Beck, O’Reily or Colbert, constructing the reality that we share
MSN, CNBC and CBS – they don’t change the channel to the one who cares

All of the rhetoric in this world isn’t gonna help you catch the squirrel
All the technology burning bright isn’t gonna help you learn the light
All the great minds throughout time have left us with a wisdom that we’ve left behind
Surrounded by the sadness, excess plastic trash
We’re fighting for this world, if it ever lasts

It’s not the global warming building up the heat
The answer’s right in front of us, at our feet
Celebrity and fame have failed us many times. It’s time to cleanse our madness
Observe the many signs…

All the excess in this world, isn’t gonna help you catch the squirrel
All the evil in this world proves the pot’s still boiling, twisted and twirled
All the hatred focused out there comes back to us through the world we share
All of the speeches in this world, don’t contain the phrases, the phrases that we need

All the government in this world isn’t gonna help you catch the squirrel
All the bleeding in this world doesn’t stop the combat where our flag is unfurled
Just another black hawk down. The names have changed, but not the crown.
Just as the cycle comes to an end, history repeats itself again, again and again

All the philosophy, All the religion, All the marketing, All the images
All the salvation, All the sadness, All the rhetoric in this world
Doesn’t give us nothin’… nothin’ that you need

Children of Light (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Here we go, not gonna look back on tomorrow. Because we are the children of light.
We have seen that the dream is a reality. The peace is here, there’s no need to fight.

We are the children of light.

An evil man came to us from above the sky. We were scared – how could we survive?
Great machines, he brought to take our energy. To leave us helpless and left here to die.
So we ran and we fled up to the highlands. We sought the Doctor for all his insight.
He had a plan to save our dying planet. By mining energy from Space and from Time.

We are the children of light.

On through Time and Space, we’re racing to save the human race from doubt.
Like comets suns and stars we’re shining very far.
We’re the children of light. Forsaking a life of vanity.
We’re the children of light. Transcending through a mind of clarity.

We are the children of light.

We’ve overcome the evil and the darkness, rebuilt our cities on justice and right.
We have seen that the dream is a reality. The peace is here, there’s no need to fight.

On through Time and Space, were racing to save the human race from doubt.
Like comets suns and stars we’re shining very far.
We’re the children of light. Forsaking a life of vanity.
We’re the children of light. Transcending through a mind of clarity.

What’s Reality
(from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Believe in God
The All Mighty One
Yeah… Yeah
I don’t know the first thing about Buddhism.
I’m still basically country and western.

The afterlife… they are real scary people.
The afterlife… they are real scary people.

What’s reality?
What’s reality?
What’s reality?
The afterlife?

What’s reality?
What’s reality?
What’s reality?
The afterlife?

What’s reality?
What’s reality?
What’s reality?
I don’t know the first thing about Buddhism.
I’m still basically country and western.

Where the Rubber Hits the Road (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

Where the rubber hits the road and the shit hits the fan,
Goin’ to lighten my load as fast as I can.
I’m a textbook case in a postcard town,
People think I’m crazy when I’m drivin’ around.

Walk the walk, talk the talk. Into the light in the tunnel.
Psycho stalk, screeching chalk. Pour me into your funnel.

Now they’re doin’ what they’re told drawin’ lines in the sand,
Holdin’ on to hope, get behind the man.
Used to think I knew, but now who knows?
Does it matter after all what path I chose?

Hook or crook, read the book. No one cares when you’re in trouble.
Watch your six, play your licks. Use the system as a shovel.

Until the break of dawn, we hold our heads up high.
Through the distance and dust, we try to survive.

Bait and switch, dig the ditch. Wipe the sweat from your stubble.
Cut the frame, change your name. Send the doctor on the double.
Bark the dog, tie the hog. Churn me into your butter.
Lightning flash, out of cash. Give in to me and no other.
Kick your fix, they’re playin’ tricks. Baptized in your river.
Synergy, or so it seems. Come out swinging the winner.

The Morning After (from the album Chaos Rise Up)

The night has a language of mystery,
Opening the veil of eternity, the early hours echo ecstasy.
Show me where the soma flows,
Show me through the bleeding bones,
Show me where the honey leads the drones.

A possession of poetry, the Rubaiyat bubbles inside of me.
and takes me to a place few have seen.
The world I enter isn’t real, the enchantment changes how I feel,
the voices in my head what do they conceal… the morning after?

I’m magnetized by her energy, she helps me cleanse my impurity,
but she destroys my sobriety.
My glass is filled, I raise the toast to the queen of the honeycomb,
she’s the infection, I am the host.
She had a million-dollar chest, jeweled nipples in silhouette,
tantalizing nape of neck.
She could break a man in two with just the wink of an eye,
but that secret stays with you… the morning after.

The moon will accept this serenade, it has no choice the bed’s been made…
it has no choice the bed’s been made…
The moon will accept this serenade, it has no choice the judgment’s made… (rpt) the morning after

Tossed and turned ’til break of dawn, thought I couldn’t keep on.
I felt weak in so many ways.
Our life’s a magic shadow show, you never try you never know,
we’re all stranded in this maze.
Do the masters practice what they teach, a celibate life of virginity?
The rain doesn’t mind, but the storm clouds know, yes they know… the morning after.

So many nights I was obsessed, dreaming of the magic in her caress,
thinking of words to suggest
I pranced around like a criminal, waiting for a sign or a symbol,
that she would let me in her nest
There’s no need to second-guess the succulent sex and pumping flesh,
there’s no need to second-guess
A wise man doesn’t have regrets, but the foolish man groans… yes he groans…

CHORUS

There’s one thing that is certain and the rest is lies, a flower blooms but yet must die.
Come fill the cup in the fire of spring, time is slipping underneath our feet.
Dreams melt away, scattered and slain, enchanted oracles subtly sway.
Butterflies into the dust descend, then the cycle starts back up again.
Like a moth to a flame, I’m engulfed in desire, I’m engulfed in desire… the morning after.

Images of roses and nightingales
Sweet smell of incense from fairytales
Starry skies and we set sail; the sirens tie me to a bed of nails
Taste the soul; swallow each other whole
Life ebbs away so ephemeral
Now I only see a ghost. Her cream white skin feels so close… so close…

The moon will accept this serenade, it has no choice the bed’s been made
It has no choice the bed’s been made.
It has no choice the bed’s been made, the moon will accept this serenade
It has no choice the bed’s been made… the morning after.

The morning after…
Now I only see a ghost, her cream white skin feels so close, so close….
